Project Name: construction of a 486SX Minimum System Author: Mohammad Mehdi Jahanbakht (79117706) - (Team Project) Supervisor: Prof. Bijan Vosoughi Vahdat ABSTRACT: A 486 minimum system is constructed in a general case and has nearly great expansion capability. These systems are constructed for general purpose but their final application is in industrial and military embedded controllers. These controllers hardly have expansion capability and are used for certain and specific purposes, usually with high processing speed. For above reasons, our minimum system utilizes an Intel 486SX processor for sufficient speed and power in processing. The main board of this system uses 128 KB of ROM and 512 KB of RAM and LCD for display. All logics and gates have been located in a single CPLD. This project is only about the explanation of the main board. Aug 2004
