Abolghasem mahbubi ID: 80 25 22 18 Abstract Multilevel inverter technology has emerged recently as a very important alternative in the area of high power medium voltage energy control. This paper presents application of multilevel inverters in electric vehicle (low voltage low power application). At First different topologies and control schemes has introduced. Then sinusoidal pulse width modulation has been simulated for cascaded multilevel inverter and two level inverter. The Power quality of output current, voltage and inverter losses has been compared for two level and multilevel inverters. Finally a five level cascaded multilevel inverter has been implemented. Selective harmonic elimination scheme has been implemented for this multilevel inverter. Key words – Cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter, Total harmonic distortion, Inverter losses.
